Overview

Silentium Defence is currently seeking a University of Adelaide commerce or finance studies student to participate in an internship commencing in July 2024.

The internship opportunity will involve working closely with Silentium Defence’s Head of Finance & Commercial as well as their Finance Accountant to assist with a variety of the organisation’s financial and accounting related activities.

You will be supported through an employment contract with Silentium Defence at a rate of up to $1200 per week. These paid internship opportunities have been made possible through a co-funded arrangement between Defence Trailblazer and Silentium Defence.

Internship activities may include:

Accounting entries/bookkeeping/Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable
Supporting the finance team with month-end reconciliations
Assistance with preparation of monthly financial reporting
Participation in budgeting and forecasting processes
Other ad-hoc tasks as needed

Eligibility Criteria

Penultimate or final year students currently enrolled in a Bachelor of Commerce or Finance degree with an interest in pursuing an accounting career in Commerce
Australian citizens who can secure a base security clearance
This internship would be suitable for someone proficient in MS Excel, possessing sound communication and collaborative skills; strong organisational skills and the ability to be proactive. Experience in Xero/accounting software is not required as the organisation will provide the requisite training and upskilling.

Additional Information

The internship is anticipated to commence in July 2024 and will be offered on a part-time basis (2-3 days/week) for a minimum of 60 business days.

At the conclusion of the internship, full-time employment opportunities may be available for suitable candidates interested in future employment with Silentium Defence.
