Dr. Michelle Perugini

Dr. Michelle Perugini is an entrepreneur with experience in healthcare and advanced AI technologies. She supports the AI and women’s health sectors globally and was awarded the 2021 Women in AI (WAI) Healthcare and Telstra Brilliant Women in Digital Health Awards. 

Michelle holds a PhD in Medicine and spent ten years as a post-doctoral research fellow in Oncology. She founded two global AI tech companies, with the first acquired by EY in 2015. As Co-Founder and CEO of Presagen, she developed a Decentralised Federated AI platform for training on distributed medical data securely. Presagen’s Life Whisperer product uses AI to evaluate embryo and egg images to improve IVF outcomes. 

Life Whisperer was authorised for sale in 47 countries prior to its acquisition by global IVF manufacturer Astec in 2024. In the same year, Presagen merged with Qubist to form Qubigen, a company focused on AI-driven drug design, where Michelle is a Co-Founder and Board Chair. Michelle currently serves as Head of Commercialisation at the University of South Australia and CEO of UniSA Ventures.
