Overview

Silentium Defence is currently seeking a University of Adelaide mechatronics or electronic engineering student to participate in an internship commencing in July 2024.

The internship opportunity will involve joining Silentium Defence’s Engineering Team to acquire broad and first-hand knowledge, and insight into the research and development activities across Defence, Surveillance of Space and Critical Infrastructure.

You will be supported through an employment contract with Silentium Defence at a rate of up to $1200 per week. These paid internship opportunities have been made possible through a co-funded arrangement between Defence Trailblazer and Silentium Defence.

Internship activities may include:

Undertaking mechanical assembly, testing, development and maintenance of passive radar systems and components
Performing bench testing of various systems and sub-systems including fault finding and trouble shooting
Participation in field activities
Preparing systems for trials activities
PCB testing
Data analysis
Product development work
Participating in a small design project

Eligibility Criteria

Penultimate or final year students currently enrolled in a Bachelor of Electronic/Mechatronics Engineering
Australian citizens who can secure a base security clearance

Additional Information

The internship is anticipated to commence in July 2024 and will be offered on a part-time basis (2-3 days/week) for a minimum of 60 business days. Engineering students will be appropriately supervised by a qualified Silentium Defence supervisor.

At the conclusion of the internship, full-time employment opportunities may be available for suitable candidates interested in future employment with Silentium Defence.
