Frontier Fluid Systems is the new R&D arm of Chief Fluid Systems.

Chief Fluid Systems (CFS) is a 100% Australian-owned SME and Australia’s choice supplier of flexible hose assemblies and fluid conveying products. CFS supports the Naval and Maritime industries with hose assemblies, bellows, refuelling equipment, valves, strainers, and adaptors, backed by manufacturing to customer specification and pressure testing and certification up to 4,000bar.

CFS delivers assembly, inspection, assessment, rebuild and testing of hoses, adaptors, valves, and refuelling equipment, plus installation and commissioning of hydraulic and mechanically driven naval systems including Hydraulic Power Units, Boat Davits, Mooring Winches, Ballast systems, Stealth Doors, and UNREP equipment. Capabilities include MRO of valves, actuators, marine strainers, hydraulic cylinders, pumps, marine motors and UNREP refuelling probes, and shipboard hose and fittings surveys with database management.

CFS invests in in-house R&D to solve problems the market hasn’t addressed. The Emergency Hose Replacement Kit (EHRK) is a platform-specific, deployable kit that lets crews replace a failed hose assembly onboard, in the field, without specialist tools or hydraulic experience, moving hose failure response from reactive to proactive. The MRN-4-1 Gravity Refuelling Nozzle Kit is a compact, POL-compliant aviation gravity refuelling nozzle with interchangeable spouts for universal airframe compatibility, purpose-built for space-constrained operations including FARP and naval aviation refuelling.

CFS is ISO 9001:2015 and ISO 14001:2015 certified, holds DNV-GL and Lloyds Register Type Approvals, is an Australian Department of Defence Top Tier – Low Risk Supplier, and a DISP member. CFS is trusted by Babcock, BAE Systems, the Australian Department of Defence and allied Defence forces, Navantia, and Thales, and partners with CLA-VAL, Elaflex, Fairbanks Morse Defense, HYDAC, Hydrasearch, and Tri-Tec Manufacturing.
