Co-founder & CEO
Matt is the CEO and co-founder of AVMG Pty Ltd, focussed on providing ‘holistic business security solutions’, where he seeks to incorporate a network of likeminded domain specialists to meet the everchanging and evolving security climate that businesses of all sizes face today. AVMG is one of several businesses that Matt has co-founded after he retired from the Australian Army as an Infantry Officer in May 2018, where he served for 26 years.
Matt has a wide range of experience in joint military operations, planning, training, project management and strategic planning. Matt’s military career has seen him undertake multiple exchanges, several deployments and numerous international engagements. The last 10 years of Matt’s military career has seen him work across multiple 3 Star Headquarters domestically, on exchange and on operations.
Prior to co-founding AVMG, Matt worked at BAE Systems Australia as a Project Manager across several sensitive projects within Canberra for Defence and at the Australian Parliament House. Matt has worked in the Project Management Function supporting a wide range of diverse projects, and their respective project teams in delivering high quality complex projects. Matt’s final role at BAE Systems saw him broaden his experience with a brief introduction into learning the craft, some might say the dark art, of Business Development. In addition to being the CEO at AVMG, Matt is also the CEO and co-founder of Australian Nuclear Power Limited and is currently the Chief Strategy Officer and Director of Business Development at ADCG Pty Ltd.
Matt is a graduate of the Australian Command and Staff College (Joint), and holds a Masters of Arts (Strategy and Management), Masters of Business and a Masters of Project Management.
Matt was awarded the Conspicuous Service Medal in the Australia Day Honour list in 2019 for his role as lead ADF planner to Exercise Talisman Sabre 2017.
