Neustonymous is a sovereign technology startup based in the Hunter region of NSW. We are developing Garfish, a new class of ultra-slim uncrewed surface vessel (USV) designed for persistent, far-forward operations in shallow coastal, littoral, estuarine and archipelagic maritime environments.
Garfish is built around a distinctive design logic, with potential operational advantages in range, endurance, speed and signature reduction.
Garfish is being developed as a payload-agnostic platform that can be deployed at relatively low cost and in numbers, potentially providing distributed capability across ISR, C2, EW, deception, targeting and mine-countermeasures missions.
Our aim is to get sensors and effects into places where crewed, larger, or more valuable assets would be exposed to unnecessary risk, and deliver useful military effects at a price point that allows significant numbers to be produced, pushed forward and placed in harm’s way.
Straightforward supply chains and comparatively simple hull construction will enable participation by regional industry and support resilient, distributed Australian manufacture.
Garfish aligns closely with Defence priorities for persistent ISR, maritime autonomous and uncrewed systems, sovereign industrial capability, affordable mass and adaptable, attritable capability at the forward edge.
