Proto-Lab Network

The Proto-Lab Network (PLN) is a network of facilities, equipment, infrastructure, and know-how to assist the different stages of defence product development. This network will enable researchers and industry staff to access Australian design, prototyping, test and evaluation, and low-scale manufacturing capabilities.

The PLN will be accessible through an online directory on the Defence Trailblazer website to assist our partners and innovation program participants in locating and accessing equipment, facilities and capabilities required to support their design, prototyping, testing and evaluation, and low-scale manufacturing.

  • Ideation/conceptualisation – through training and access to entrepreneurship experts
  • Design and prototyping support – through access to maker spaces, CAD and electronics designers, engineers, software programmers and test and evaluation (T&E) expertise and facilities.
  • Low Volume manufacturing – through access to advanced manufacturing workshop facilities.
