Background
Delivered in partnership with industry, the Adelaide University (AU) and UNSW, the Defence Trailblazer is strengthening Australia’s sovereign defence capability by accelerating the commercialisation of new technologies and building specialised skills for the current and future workforce.
Since 2023, Defence Trailblazer has delivered the DINAMIC (Defence, Industry, Academia, Military, Innovation & Commercialisation) Innovation Program, supporting more than 350 innovators to navigate the defence innovation ecosystem and enabling 50+ Australian ventures to accelerate defence and dual use technologies.
Our cohorts bring together innovators from academia, defence industry, veterans, and serving ADF members—creating trusted networks and shared learning across the innovation journey.
The program is underpinned by five key pillars:
- Commercial readiness
- Technical readiness
- Investment readiness
- Defence readiness
- Export readiness
We recognise the complexity of entering the defence market and supplying to Defence and allied partners. Defence Trailblazer provides practical tools, insights, and support to help innovators progress from concept to commercialisation.
Purpose

- ADF innovation pathways
- Intellectual property (IP)
- Conflicts of interest
- Funding and financial considerations
- Defence Trailblazer 2026 programs
This webinar will provide practical insights and real-world perspectives to support informed decision making throughout the innovation journey.
