University-Industry Collaboration Masterclass Series

The Masterclass Series was created to equip students, academics and industry partners with practical insights into university commercialisation processes, drivers for successful collaboration, guidance on understanding IP policies and accessing support for research commercialisation.

Offering three masterclasses, the program provided unique insights and tips for participants about:

  • University IP & Commercialisation – Intellectual Property and the realities of partnering with industry to commercialise research
  • Commercialisation & Collaboration – commercialisation pathways for inventors and the challenges (and triumphs) of university-industry collaborations
  • Publishing for Industry & Impact – addressing the perceived barriers associated with publishing industry funded research.

Delivered in 2024, this session provided insights into navigating IP discussions and negotiations with industry partners. Through a lessons learned approach, participants also reviewed university IP processes and examined various IP scenarios.
