“At the Helm: Women Driving Change in Defence Industry” is an inspiring event designed to showcase how women in the defence industry have fully realised their opportunities. This session will feature a “fireside chat” with three distinguished speakers, each offering a distinct perspective on how women have navigated their way to the helm in today’s Defence Industry and sharing insights for those continuing the charge:

  1. From Service to Startup: A trailblazing entrepreneur who transitioned from military service to building a business will share insights on harnessing military skills for entrepreneurial success.
  2. Leading the Charge: A seasoned leader in the defence industry will discuss effective leadership strategies that helped her navigate and thrive in a field transitioning from a male-dominated to a more inclusive environment.
  3. Lessons from the US: An expert with extensive experience in the US medical and defence sectors will provide valuable comparisons and lessons on the journey of female leaders in the US and Australian defence industries.

This event aims to move beyond the typical discussions of overcoming challenges. Instead, it focuses on how women have navigated today’s workplace, the unique skillsets that helped them succeed, and their advice to the next generation of female leaders for driving innovation and leadership in tomorrow’s defence industry. By bringing together these diverse perspectives, we aim to inspire and equip our partners with actionable insights and strategies for success today and in the future.
