Technology company CAE joins forces with UNSW under the Defence Trailblazer to simulate operational environments.
UNSW Sydney and Northrop Grumman Australia are partnering to develop new sovereign capability for the Australian Defence Force. In conjunction with Northrop Grumman Australia & Professor Robert Malaney (UNSW Sydney), the project will work to enable ultra-secure communications that would be impervious to adversarial attacks in the electromagnetic spectrum.

Focussing on innovation at speed, the Defence Trailblazer Program is investing over $200 million in disruptive new technologies that will directly translate into Australian Defence Force (ADF) capability.
Through its Advanced Innovation Fund (AIF), the Defence Trailblazer program will contribute $5.1 million to support the establishment of a Quantum Silicon (Q-Si) Production Plant, which aims to deliver an end-to-end Australian manufacturing facility producing enriched silicon for silicon quantum computers.
The Defence Trailblazer program is on track to boost Australia’s sovereign defence capabilities by upskilling the workforce and accelerating leading-edge science and technology.
