We are excited to share the recent success of our Cyber Security Voucher Program – a program designed to support defence industry to uplift their cyber security, collaborate securely with partners and do business with Defence.
Developed in consultation with industry, the program addresses the industry preference for flexibility that enables cyber uplift unique to each company’s requirements. Launched in May 2024, 25 Australian SMEs have now received support through vouchers of up to $50,000 each, resulting in the award of over $1.1 million in total funding.
The program is supported by a range of industry and academic partners who specialise in the cybersecurity assurance and uplift space: Apex Sentinel, Australian Cyber Collaboration Centre (Aus3C), Bluerydge, DTEX Systems, Providence Consulting, Tesserent, Viden Labs, the UNSW Institute for Cyber Security and University of Adelaide’s School of Computer and Mathematical Sciences.
“This initiative is invaluable in assisting companies with uplifting their Cyber Security. As a sovereign SME, Viden is acutely aware of the challenges and opportunities these companies face. Team Viden is honoured to support defence industry in creating sovereign capabilities for the Australian War Fighter”. Viden
The flexibility in the voucher program has allowed for businesses to use the vouchers to uplift their cyber security posture based on individual business requirements, helping businesses scale up their operations and introduce new initiatives to enable a more robust cyber security environment.
The vouchers have already made a significant impact. SMEs have used the vouchers to undertake activities such as cyber maturity reviews, risk assessments and roadmaps, purchase security hardware and software and achieve DISP and ISO27001 accreditations.
“Thank you so much for the opportunity to be in this program. We really appreciate it. It makes a big difference for our business to be able to uplift our cyber posture.” said an SME participant.
“We are very grateful for the Cyber Security Voucher Program funds to assist with an effective infosec uplift, to protect our IP and resulting defence capability”. An SME participant.
