Just announced: Operation Thesis: Clever Minds for Tough Missions
Postgraduate Research Spotlight – 24 March 2026

Defence Trailblazer is proud to announce Operation Thesis, a 60-minute online event showcasing the next generation of defence innovation. This spotlight session will feature selected graduates presenting their higher degree research projects, developed in collaboration with industry partners.

These projects demonstrate how academic research is being translated into practical solutions that strengthen Australia’s sovereign capability and address real-world defence challenges.

Operation Thesis forms part of the program for DTECH26, and its purpose is clear: to showcase how Defence Trailblazer PhD and Masters projects are being applied to strengthen national resilience and technological advancement. This event will highlight the depth of talent within our universities and the specialist knowledge being harnessed through collaboration with industry. It is an opportunity to see first-hand how academic innovation is being translated into practical defence solutions.

Those invited to attend will gain insight into the defence industry-led research supported by the Defence Trailblazer program. You’ll learn more about the promising student cohort behind these projects and discover how their work is inspiring future researchers and industry collaborators. Operation Thesis also aims to foster deeper partnerships between academia, Defence, and industry – connections that are critical to building Australia’s sovereign capability.

Operation Thesis will take place online on 24 March 2026.
