The Extraterrestrial Environmental Simulation (EXTERRES) laboratory is a state-of-the-art facility specifically designed to simulate off-Earth environments. The facility supports the design, testing and development of technologies and processes destined for the lunar and Martian surface. It includes two rover testing pits, two Regolith Thermal Vacuum Chambers (RTVACs) and a regolith processing zone.
