Defence Trailblazer fast-tracking new technologies to help Defence and industry transition to clean energy

Defence Trailblazer is actively working with our industry partners in support of the Australian Government transition to Net Zero, funding a range of projects to develop emissions-reducing technologies to accelerate Defence’s transition to clean energy set out in the Defence Future Energy Strategy. The projects will also bolster the advanced manufacturing sector – supporting the energy transition while maintaining economic competitiveness.

Quantum Silicon project by Silex Systems, SQC and UNSW wins best Industry-Research Collaboration in Knowledge Commercialisation Australasia Awards

The Quantum Silicon project – a collaboration between Silex Systems Limited, Silicon Quantum Computing (SQC) and UNSW Sydney – has been awarded Best Industry-Research collaboration by Knowledge Commercialisation Australasia. The strategic collaboration is supported by $5.1 million from Defence Trailblazer’s Advanced Innovation Fund.

UndaTech to trial specialised protective undergarments tailored for ADF women through Defence Trailblazer supported project

UndaTech has signed a project agreement to test high-performance, fire-resistant undergarments tailored to the needs of female Defence personnel, supported by the Defence’s Trailblazer’s Technology Development & Acceleration program.

“These garments are designed to mitigate health risks for women in frontline roles,” said UndaTech Founder and ADF veteran Emily Pyke.
